The days are long but the years are short

I think any parent can relate to that quote...E is SO testing our patience right now. He screams "NO!" to everything (even when it's something he really wants), has random fits out of the blue, won't eat and is overall becoming even more stubborn than before (which I didn't think was possible). There are some days that bedtime cannot come fast enough. But, I know in retrospect this time is just going to fly by. I'm going to look back and wonder where it went. We need to remember to cherish these days (even the trying ones). Soon, the two-year old fits will be gone. But, so will the out of the blue kisses, the walks while holding hands, the cuddling. He's already growing up so fast I can't stand it.

My niece Larissa is bad with the "No" thing.

I was holding her the other day and she wanted down so I said, "Do you want down?"

After her ignoring the question I finally got her to mumble "yes".

That was the coolest moment ever.

The no stage is annoying, but it is easily transformed into the "I do it" stage.

Tell your kid to do whatever you want to do. I say "you do it" 1000 times a day. It totally works for me.

Good luck.
